For this Broadband Test we have disabled the Java Chat Window Option as this is a Video Bandwidth test site.

To ensure that the Chat Window functions properly on the day of the course, please make sure that your JavaScript IS ENABLED in your browser.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Click the above white "Play" button in the center of the black, blank video screen.
This will start the video stream for you to view.

 

Please verify that your are seeing the video and hearing the audio.

If you are seeing and hearing the video test, than you are all set to receive the Live Stream on class day.

Refer to the Troubleshooting Guide below to fix issues.

If you are using a Wi-Fi (Wireless) connection and are having issues please check the bottom of this site for possible solutions.

If you get a Flash Player Needs to be Updated error than follow the instructions below.

To get the latest Adobe Flash Player go to:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Click on the yellow button in the middle of the screen that says "Agree and Install now"
Follow the install instructions as they appear.

 

 

- Make sure speakers are plugged in and turned on. (if applicable)

- Adjust computer volume.

 

 

If you get a JAVASCRIPT error than follow the instructions below.

 

To ENABLE JAVASCRIPT in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or Later (for Windows)

Open Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Security tab, click Internet.
Click Custom Level. (Fig.1)
Scroll down to Active scripting.
Click Enable (or Prompt). (Fig.2)
Click OK.
Click Yes.
Click OK.

To ENABLE JAVASCRIPT in Firefox 2.xx or 3.xx series


Open Firefox.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click on the Content icon. (Fig. 1)
Check the box next to Enable JavaScript. (Fig. 1)
Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced JavaScript Options box. (Fig. 2)
Check the boxes under Allow scripts to section that you want to allow.
Click OK.
Click OK.

To enable JavaScript in Firefox 1.xx series


Open Firefox.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click Web Features in the Options list. (Fig.1)
Under the Web Features section, check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced JavaScript Options box. (Fig. 2)
Check the boxes under Allow scripts to section that you want to allow.
Click OK.
Click OK.

 

 

If you are using a Wireless connection and the video appears choppy or breaks apart, here are some things to consider.

Some determining factors as to how well your wireless signal will work are as follows.
- the type of installation (multi-floor, multi-wall, etc.)
- sources of interference  
- channel selection (refer to router manual to change)
- blocking materials such as foil-clad insulation
- router distance from computer


If the factors listed above are a concern then I would suggest daisy-chaining switches.
Connect a router/switch to another one closer to the computer with a cat5e cable.
This new router/switch could be wired or wireless (if it is close enough)
